From parcel to glow

Three steps. Under a minute per disk.

Most customers have all four in the ground before the kettle boils.

1

Unbox & pull the tab

Each disk ships with a small plastic tab over the sensor — pull it out to wake the battery.

2

Sit flush with the ground

Press the disk into soft grass or soil so the top is level with the lawn. No tools. No stakes.

3

Leave it in the sun

A full day of charging and it'll glow that night automatically at dusk. Done.

Tip First night, place them somewhere south-facing if you can. After day one, move them wherever you actually want them — the panel keeps charging through normal AU daylight even in shade for part of the day.
Where they go

Four disks. Four ideas. One garden that finally has edges.

Colour-change solar disk lights sitting flush in the grass along a garden path edge at night
Night — the disks trace the edge of the path.
01

Lawn pathway

Press them flush into the grass. They guide guests from the gate to the front door.

02

Garden bed edge

Mark the line between mulch and lawn. Stops dinner-party guests from trampling the salvias.

03

Patio & deck border

Run them along the step-down off the deck. Less rolled ankles in the dark.

04

Driveway markers

Two each side at the entry, two at the end. Reversing into the dark suddenly has guide lights.

Why solar

No power outlet near the path? Doesn't matter.

The other option for marking a path is to run mains-wired bollard lights — and that's a whole different project.

Mains-wired path lights

The other route
  • Trench from the house out to where you want the lights
  • Often a sparky for the outdoor-rated wiring (cost: a weekend)
  • Adds to the power bill every night they're on
  • Move them later? Dig the trench up again
  • One blackout and the whole path goes dark

Highbright solar disks

What you get instead
  • No trenching, no cables, no sparky required
  • Zero power-bill impact — sun does the work
  • Pick them up and move them next weekend if you want
  • Blackout? Doesn't matter, they're independent of the grid
  • Set up in under 60 seconds per disk

The yard didn't need a renovation. It needed edges that show up at night.

Disk lights vs the alternatives

Why not just grab the $20 four-pack from a hardware shop?

You can. Most people do once. Then they replace them inside a season.

Cheap solar stakes

$15–25

  • Plastic stake snaps in the first lawnmower hit
  • Glow lasts 2–3 hours, then fades to nothing
  • Battery dies inside a season · nothing serviceable
  • Stick-up shape catches the eye for the wrong reason
  • No weight rating · one footstep and it tilts

Highbright Solar Disk Lights

$59.40 for 4

  • Solid disk sits flush with the lawn · lawnmower-safe
  • 10 hours of glow per full charge
  • Rated for 150kg of weight · walk on them
  • Auto on at dusk, off at dawn · set and forget
  • 12-month Australian warranty if anything fails

Common questions

Before you click "add to cart"…

How many disks come in the pack?
Four. That's enough to line a 4–5 metre pathway, edge one garden bed, or mark the corners of a small patio. Most customers grab two packs if they're doing a longer stretch or both sides of a driveway.
Do they actually survive being walked on?
Yes. Each disk is rated for 150kg of weight. Foot traffic, wheelbarrow wheels, the dog — all fine. The casing is solid, not the plastic dome you'll find on $15 supermarket lights. (Don't park a car on them. Common sense applies.)
What happens on cloudy days?
The panel still charges, just slower. A full day of overcast typically gives 4–6 hours of glow that night instead of the full 10. A run of three or four straight grey days will eventually run them flat — they bounce back the first sunny day after.
Do I need to turn them on manually?
No. Built-in light sensor handles it. Auto-on at dusk, auto-off at dawn. Set them down, walk away, forget about them.
Can I mow over them?
Yes — that's the point of the flush disk shape. Sit them at lawn-height and the mower passes straight over. Stake-style lights snap the first time you forget they're there. These don't.
How long do they last before needing a replacement?
The disks themselves are built to last 3+ years of continuous outdoor use. The built-in rechargeable battery is the wear part — most customers get 18–24 months of nightly use before the runtime starts to drop. After that, the disk still glows, just for fewer hours. We cover anything under 12 months under warranty.
What if one stops working?
12-month Australian warranty. Email info@thehomeandpartyshop.com with your order number and we reply within one business day. No fight, no overseas call centre.
I want bigger impact — should I look at something else?
If you want the wow-the-neighbours effect (laser projections across the back fence, animated colour, party-scale), the disk lights are the wrong product. Have a look at the HighBright™ Professional Garden Laser instead — it covers a whole back yard from a single projector.
Want bigger impact?

For garden walls and trees — try the laser.

The disks light pathways and edges. The HighBright™ Professional Garden Laser covers your whole back yard from one projector — trees, garden walls, fences — in animated green and blue.

Quietly upgrade the yard

Four disks. Add them to the cart, then forget about them.

They turn up. You drop them in place. The garden has edges from then on. That's the whole job.
